Quba Welfare Foundation UK (registered charity no. 1203276) is responsible for the personal information you give us on this website. You can reach us at info@qubafoundation.co.uk, or write to us at Victoria Walks, Benjamin Street, Wakefield WF2 9AR.

What we collect

  • When you donate: your full name, email address, the amount, the appeal and type of giving you chose, and whether you want your name shown with your gift. Your card details go straight to Stripe, our payment provider; we never see or store them.
  • When you offer to volunteer: your name, email address, and, if you choose to give them, your phone number, date of birth and message.
  • When you use the site: the cookies described in our cookie policy.

Why we use it

  • To take your donation, send your receipt, and spend your gift where you asked. We rely on our agreement with you, and on our legal duty to keep financial records.
  • To show your name beside your gift, only if you ticked “Show my name with my gift”.
  • To reply to you about volunteering, because you asked us to.

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t send marketing emails unless you’ve asked for them.

Who sees it

  • Our trustees and staff who need it for their work.
  • Stripe, which processes card payments (Stripe’s privacy policy).
  • The companies that host this website and send our emails, only to provide those services.
  • HMRC or other authorities, if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep donation records for six years after the end of the financial year they belong to, as the law requires for charity accounts. Volunteer details are kept for two years after we last heard from you, unless you volunteer with us.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email info@qubafoundation.co.uk and we’ll reply within a month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
